Irlam: So, there was this really worrying situation the other day. An 11-year-old girl was walking to school when a man and a woman tried to grab her. It happened on Tuesday morning, around 8:30 AM.

The police got called after the girl managed to escape and tell an adult. Apparently, the couple had been driving around in a car and a van. They approached her on Silver Street, near Cutnook Lane.

The guy is described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. The woman was also white and wore leggings with a black hoodie. The car was a black four-door, and the van was a small, new-looking white one with a sliding door.

Police are taking this seriously and have sent extra officers to the area to help reassure everyone. They’re asking locals to check their dashcam or doorbell footage from that morning. If anyone saw anything strange, they should definitely reach out to the police.

Detective Inspector Justin Bryant mentioned how concerning this is for the community. He’s urging anyone with information or footage to come forward, as it could really help with the investigation. They’re also making sure the girl and her family are supported during this tough time.
