Leicester: A woman and her two kids are out of the hospital after a police car hit them while chasing a suspect. The incident happened at a busy junction in the West End around 4:40 PM on Monday.

According to Leicestershire Police, the officer was chasing a blue BMW that didn’t stop when asked. The family was just walking when they got hit, but thankfully, it seems to have been at a low speed.

Witnesses said paramedics treated the family right there before taking them to the hospital. One local business owner mentioned seeing the woman on the pavement, and it was a bit scary for everyone around.

People were really worried at first, but it sounds like they’re all okay now. The police car had slowed down by the time of the collision, which helped a lot.

One resident, Paul, noted that the crash was pretty obvious because of how the police car was positioned. He didn’t know how badly hurt anyone was at first, but he was relieved to hear the family was okay.

Leicestershire Police released a statement saying the woman had a minor injury, while the kids were unharmed. They were taken to the hospital just to be safe but have since been discharged.

As for the blue BMW, it hasn’t been found yet. The police are looking into the whole situation and want anyone who saw what happened to come forward. They had to close part of the road for a few hours to investigate.

Interestingly, the police said they don’t need to refer this incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which usually happens in more serious cases.
