Newquay: So, there’s this schnauzer named Vincent who had a really rough day. He managed to sneak out of his owner Theresa’s house and got hit by a car, then a van—yikes! Poor guy ended up with some serious injuries, and now Theresa is facing a mountain of vet bills.

It all went down on December 28 when Theresa’s son went outside to show off his new Christmas gift. Vincent, being the curious pup he is, followed him out. It was dark and rainy, so he wasn’t easy to spot on the road. Sadly, he got hit by a car and then got stuck under a van. Talk about bad luck!

Theresa only found out something was wrong when her neighbor called to say there was a dog in trouble. She thought it couldn’t be Vincent, but when she opened the door, she heard him screaming. She rushed over and found people trying to help him, but he was scared and in pain, so he bit a few folks, including Theresa. Understandably, he was just terrified.

Luckily, Vincent survived, but he’s got a rare injury that’s been tough to fix. His shoulder blade is fractured in a way that makes recovery tricky. He recently had surgery, and now he’s on bed rest for four weeks. If he doesn’t heal, he might need another operation. That’s a lot for a dog and his owner to go through!

Theresa has already spent all her pet insurance on Vincent’s previous treatments, and this latest surgery is costing her £2,800. As a pensioner, she’s struggling to cover the costs. She thought she’d be fine with just £1,000 in insurance, but life had other plans.

To help with the bills, she set up a GoFundMe page and has already raised £800 of her £1,300 goal. She’s super grateful for the support she’s received so far. It’s heartwarming to see people come together to help out.

Theresa feels absolutely heartbroken over the whole situation. Vincent is her baby, and she’s just desperate for him to recover. She can’t believe he made it through such a scary ordeal. He’s lost some teeth and has cuts and bruises, but she’s hopeful he’ll bounce back.

With the road near her home being busier than ever, she’s worried about other pets and people crossing safely. It’s a tough situation, but she’s doing everything she can for her furry friend.
