Detroit, United Airlines, Flight 4166, Cabin Pressure, Emergency Landing

Detroit: So, here’s the scoop. A United Airlines flight was cruising from Allentown, Pennsylvania, to Chicago when things took a turn. They lost cabin pressure at 40,000 feet, which is pretty scary, right?

The flight, which was actually a CRJ-700 jet operated by GoJet, was over northern Ohio when it happened around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday. They quickly rerouted to Detroit Metropolitan-Wayne County Airport and landed safely at about 8:20 a.m.

Flight data showed the plane dropped thousands of feet in just a couple of minutes. In fact, it lost over 6,000 feet between 7:47 and 7:48 a.m. That’s a rapid descent!

One passenger shared on X that the flight crew did an amazing job keeping everyone calm during the whole ordeal. By the time they got close to Detroit, the crew assured air traffic controllers that everything was under control.

When they landed, there were no injuries reported, which is a huge relief. United Airlines hasn’t commented yet, but it sounds like they handled the situation well.
