Talke: You won’t believe what happened today! A bunch of sheep decided to take a stroll right in the middle of a busy road in North Staffordshire. Can you imagine? At least 11 of them were just chilling on a grass verge on Old Butt Lane this morning.

People started calling the farmer to come and get them, and the police were also notified. Thankfully, those woolly wanderers were back home before 10 am after a little adventure that lasted about two hours.

It seems this isn’t the first time sheep have been spotted roaming around West Avenue. Some locals mentioned that they’ve seen them trotting about over the weekend. There’s even footage of them checking out some nearby businesses early this morning!

A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police said they got the call at 7:50 am about the sheep munching grass too close to the road. They found around 10 sheep hanging out on the verge.

Not long after, the sheep were reported wandering toward a roundabout by West Avenue. The police quickly informed the owner and made sure the sheep were safe by 9:40 am.

One local shared their concern with StokeonTrentLive, saying, “There are sheep loose on West Avenue. This has been happening since the weekend. We are just worried about them. Police have been called.”

What a morning for Talke! Just goes to show, you never know what you might see on your way to work.
