Temperatures across the UK are set to rise significantly tonight as the cold snap begins to ease, bringing milder conditions.

Kinbrace: Parts of the UK are finally warming up after a chilly spell. Tonight, some areas could be up to 19C warmer than last night. How great is that?
Just the other night, Kinbrace in the Scottish Highlands dropped to a bone-chilling -13.9C. But don’t worry, it’s expected to be around 5C come Monday morning. That’s a nice change!
Usually, this time of year, northern Scotland sees lows around 0.3C, so this is a welcome shift. Over in Suffolk, Cavendish hit -7.8C, and Hawarden Airport in Wales was at -2.2C. Brr!
Sunday morning brought some fog along with the freezing temps, but it should clear up soon. The UK Health Security Agency has even extended its cold weather alert for England until Tuesday, but warmer air is on the way.
By Sunday night, we can expect temperatures in Northern Ireland and western Scotland to rise to about 9 or 10C. Most other places will still be chilly, hovering between -1C and -3C, but it’s definitely an improvement.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, temperatures are expected to be between 11-12C in the north and 8-9C in the south. Met Office meteorologist Greg Dewhurst says we’ll be back to average temps for this time of year. Sounds good to me!
