Bangor: John Robinson had some charges dropped in court today. The Public Prosecution Service withdrew two counts against him. One count accused him of encouraging a riot last August. The other claimed he published material to stir up hatred.
Robinson still faces five other charges. These include possessing fireworks without a license and sending menacing messages online. His comments on social media raised concerns about violence against migrant housing.
In a Facebook post, he reacted to immigration protests and mentioned burning hotels. Police found more alarming messages on his phone. He suggested that violence was the only way to make the government listen.
In court, his lawyer asked for a week to discuss the case further. The judge agreed and set the next court date for February 11. Robinson’s situation remains serious as he navigates these ongoing legal issues.
