Uber Rider Arrested on Busy Manchester Road for Cannabis and Speeding
An Uber Eats cyclist was arrested in Manchester for riding an electric bike without a license and possessing cannabis

They noticed him zooming along Hyde Road at a crazy 35mph, and he wasn’t even pedaling! Turns out, it was an electric bike, which means he needed a license and insurance to ride it legally.
But guess what? He didn’t have either. When the officers chatted with him, they found some cannabis on him too. Not a great combo, right?
After a quick test, he was found to be under the influence of cannabis while riding. The police made it clear that riding an electric bike like that is treated like a motor vehicle, so he was arrested for all of it, including failing the roadside drug test.
