Sydney: So, get this! An Uber driver named Waqar Hassan Virk, 28, had a wild moment outside the NSW Parliament. He waved around a water pistol that looked just like a Glock. Crazy, right?

This all went down on November 14. Virk parked his bronze Toyota Camry right where the parliament’s cameras could see him. He was just chilling in his car, holding this dark-colored pistol out the window.

He even pulled the trigger while pointing it at the ground, making it look like he was shooting something. It was just water, but still, it raised some eyebrows!

After the stunt, he stuffed the water gun into a paper bag and tossed it in his car’s boot before driving off. But the fun didn’t last long. Hours later, he got pulled over at Sydney domestic airport and was arrested.

In a pretty emotional chat with the police, he admitted he had the gun but thought it was okay since it was just a water gun. He even planned to send it to his nephew in Pakistan!

Last week, he showed up in court and pleaded guilty to having an unauthorized firearm. The magistrate found him guilty but didn’t give him a conviction. Instead, he got a 15-month conditional release order. Talk about a close call!

He was told he was lucky he didn’t get shot or tasered for waving that thing around in such a high-profile spot. The whole scene was witnessed by a special constable on duty at the parliament. What a day for him!
