Tyrrell detective’s major call on bins

Tyrrell Detective Calls for Search of Bins in Ongoing Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector urges thorough examination of bins in the Tyrrell case

William Tyrrell, Kendall, NSW, Investigation, Foster Mother

Kendall: So, there’s been a lot of buzz around this rural spot in New South Wales lately. It’s where they’re still trying to figure out what happened to little William Tyrrell, who went missing over ten years ago.

Recently, it came to light that the police didn’t check the rubbish bins along Batar Creek Road right after he disappeared. Can you believe that? They searched other bins nearby but missed these ones.

Now, there’s a theory floating around that William might have had an accidental fall, and his foster mom could have hidden his body. She’s always denied any wrongdoing, saying he vanished while playing in her mom’s yard.

When she was questioned by the NSW Crime Commission, she was asked about a drive she took the day he went missing. She claimed she was looking for him, but it raised a lot of eyebrows.

Detective Chief Inspector David Laidlaw, who’s leading the investigation, mentioned in a statement that they’ve reviewed everything since the inquest started. But it’s odd that the bins on Batar Creek Road weren’t searched back then.

He pointed out that while the bins on Benaroon Drive were checked, there’s no record of the ones on Batar Creek Road being thoroughly searched. It’s a bit concerning, right?

They even brought in a forensic anthropologist to weigh in, but she couldn’t say for sure if any remains would have been preserved if they were hidden in the undergrowth.

And let’s not forget about the floods that hit Kendall over the years, which could have washed away any evidence. Despite all the digging and searching, nothing has turned up.

During the inquest, the foster mom was adamant that she didn’t take William or dump his body. She got pretty emotional when she was pressed about it, saying there were just too many questions and too much chaos.

As for what’s next, the coroner is expected to make her findings in 2025. It’s possible she might conclude that William was killed by someone unknown, but we’ll have to wait and see.
