Hounslow: So, it turns out that Duarra Abdi, who’s just 20, was found guilty of murdering Tyreece Scott. This all went down at the Old Bailey, and it’s pretty shocking.
Alongside him, 24-year-old Ben Laing was also convicted. They didn’t just stop at murder; Abdi was also found guilty of having a knife on him. Yikes!
Tyreece was tragically stabbed to death last January in the early hours on Hibernia Road. It’s just heartbreaking.
Both guys were caught at Stansted Airport after they flew back to the UK three days post-murder. Talk about bad timing!
Detectives linked a bag Abdi had when arrested to the one he was seen with during the attack. That’s some solid detective work!
Tyreece sadly died right there at the scene. His phone had searches for “Hounslow stabbing,” which the police said was crucial evidence.
Two others, Reda Mohamed and Morgan Allen, were also found guilty of trying to mess with the investigation. They really thought they could get away with it!
Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride, who led the case, mentioned that they’re still supporting Tyreece’s family. He hopes this conviction gives them some peace.
He also highlighted how hard the team worked to gather evidence, using everything from CCTV to phone tracking. It’s good to know they’re on top of things!
All four of them are set to be sentenced on February 27. Let’s hope justice is served!
