MONTREAL: So, here’s the scoop. Two water bombers from Quebec are in California right now, helping tackle those huge wildfires in the Los Angeles area. It’s pretty intense out there.

Stéphane Caron from Quebec’s fire protection agency, SOPFEU, mentioned that these planes head to the U.S. every fall. They’ve been doing this for years, but this time, they extended their stay because of the emergency.

Each plane comes with its own crew, including a pilot, co-pilot, and a technician. They’re all set to jump in and help out as needed.

As of this morning, there are at least four major fires raging, and sadly, they’ve already claimed two lives and destroyed over a thousand buildings. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.

Quebec’s Public Security Minister, François Bonnardel, even reached out to California’s governor on social media, offering more firefighters if they’re needed. It’s great to see that kind of support.

Just so you know, Quebec has been sending these Canadian-made CL-415 firefighting planes to L.A. every year since 1994. It’s a long-standing partnership that really shows how we can come together in tough times.
