Pembrokeshire: On January 15, two lifeboats were launched to help boats in trouble. The first rescue happened at 5:30 PM when a 10-meter pleasure boat had an electrical failure near the VPOT oil terminal. Luckily, the Angle Lifeboat crew was already preparing for a training exercise, so they quickly set out to assist.

They assessed the situation and got the pleasure vessel back on track, towing it safely to Neyland Marina. Once they secured it alongside a pontoon, they wrapped up and returned to their usual Wednesday night drill.

Then, later that night at 9:15 PM, another call came in. This time, it was a 25-meter commercial landing craft taking on water in St Brides Bay. The Angle RNLI crew jumped into action again, working alongside St David’s All-Weather Lifeboat.

They arrived on the scene and quickly transferred a salvage pump to the distressed vessel. The lifeboats escorted the craft, but as it continued to take on water, they decided to change course and head for Broad Haven Beach to prevent it from sinking.

After a few hours of escorting and providing safety cover, the situation improved around 3:15 AM. St David’s lifeboat returned to the station, and by 4 AM, Angle Lifeboat was also stood down. It was a busy night for the lifeboat crews, but they handled everything like pros!
