Beachport: It’s a sad day in this small coastal town. Two men have tragically died after their boat capsized. A woman was also taken to the hospital, but thankfully she’s alive.
This all happened around 11:30 AM on Monday. Emergency services rushed to the scene near Point Connor, just south of Beachport. When they arrived, they found three people unresponsive on the beach.
Sadly, the two men, aged 82 and 69, were pronounced dead right there. The 59-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. Right now, the police are looking into what happened, but they don’t suspect anything suspicious.
They’ll be preparing a report for the coroner. This incident comes on the heels of another tragedy where a 40-year-old woman couldn’t be revived after being swept off rocks at Salmon Beach.
And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a missing fisherman whose empty boat was found drifting off Windang Island. It’s been a tough summer, with over 30 drownings reported across the country.
Authorities are really urging everyone to be extra careful around the water. Beachport is a lovely spot, about 311 kilometers southeast of Adelaide, but safety should always come first.
