Luton: So, it turns out two guys have been charged for selling fake Covid-19 vaccination records. Can you believe it? Waqas Hanif, 26, and Touqir Nasir, 29, are in some serious trouble.

They’re set to appear in court this Thursday. The charges are linked to some pretty hefty laws, including the Computer Misuse Act and the Fraud Act. The National Crime Agency is on this case.

Here’s the kicker: investigators found nearly 2,000 fake records at a health center in Luton between June and October 2021. That’s a lot of dodgy paperwork!

They even seized £145,000 in cash from a safety deposit box. Talk about a big haul! It seems like some folks were paying for these fake vaccine passports just to travel while everyone else was stuck at home.

Paul Foster from the NCA said it’s all about keeping the public safe. He emphasized that while getting vaccinated is a personal choice, using fake records to dodge health rules is just wrong.

Hanif was arrested back in January 2022, and Nasir had a chat with the NCA in March 2022. They’re both facing some serious charges, including conspiracy to commit fraud and unauthorized computer access.

Looks like they’re in for a rough ride. It’s a reminder that trying to cheat the system can really backfire!
