Miami: Tua Tagovailoa had a rough day on Sunday. He threw three interceptions in a game that the Dolphins really needed to win against the Texans.
After losing 20-12, their playoff chances are looking pretty slim. They’re now sitting at 6-8 for the season. While they’re not completely out of the race, it’s going to take a miracle to make it to the playoffs.
The Texans took control early, leading 13-6 at halftime. They scored again in the third quarter, pushing their lead to 14 points. Tagovailoa did manage to throw a touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith, but they missed the two-point conversion.
Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Tagovailoa threw two more interceptions, sealing the win for Houston. C.J. Stroud had a solid game, completing 18 of 26 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
For the Dolphins, Tagovailoa finished with 196 yards and that one touchdown, but those three picks really hurt. De’Von Achane and Malik Washington contributed, but it wasn’t enough.
Now, the Dolphins need to win their last three games to have any shot at the playoffs. They’ll face the 49ers next week, followed by tough road games against the Browns and Jets. It’s a tall order, especially with just a 5% chance of making it.
They’ll need some help from other teams too, hoping for losses from the Chargers, Broncos, and Colts. It’s a tough spot to be in, but hey, anything can happen in the NFL!
