Pensacola: The murder of 26-year-old Tshey Bennett has sent shockwaves through the community. A Florida sheriff described it as “chilling,” especially after revealing the suspect’s unsettling Google searches.

Willie Richard Ellington, just 20 years old and stationed at NAS Pensacola, has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of child pornography. This all came to light after Bennett’s body was discovered in a pond over 50 miles away in Mobile, Alabama.

Authorities believe a PlayStation power cord might have been used in the crime, but they’re still waiting for the autopsy results to confirm the cause of death.

In a recent interview, Sheriff Chip W. Simmons shared some of the disturbing searches found on Ellington’s phone. Before meeting Bennett, he looked up things like “What does a dead body look like after two days?” and “How many prostitute murders go unsolved?” It’s pretty unsettling.

Bennett was staying at the Sweet Dreams Inn when she met Ellington. After family members reported her missing, deputies found her hotel room open, her car outside, and some odd items inside, including a stripped bed and a PlayStation cord.

They tracked Ellington down through video surveillance and found he had left Pensacola before heading to Alabama. He was arrested while trying to leave Alabama on a bus, and he had a PlayStation console with him, but no cord.

While the autopsy is still pending, the sheriff hinted that the searches and the cord found at the hotel could be linked to the crime. It seems Ellington might have arranged the meeting through escort services online.

Ellington is expected to be extradited back to Florida soon. Meanwhile, military officials have stated they’re cooperating with local authorities during this investigation.
