Patrick passed away peacefully at home on December 28, surrounded by his family. He was a key player in the Wells Civic Society, even serving as chairman for many years. Just recently, he stepped down from the executive committee, but his impact will be felt for a long time.
He was also a beloved guide at Wells Cathedral, sharing his passion and knowledge with visitors from all over. It’s heartbreaking to think he was looking forward to celebrating his 100th birthday this March, but sadly, that won’t happen.
His family, including his wife Monica and sons Andrew and Nicholas, have been overwhelmed with heartfelt tributes. Chris Winter, the chair of the civic society, shared how much he’ll miss Patrick’s wisdom and friendship.
A family funeral is set for January 31, and they plan to hold a celebration of his life later on. It’s a big loss for the community, and he’ll be missed by many.
