Canterbury: Drivers are really feeling the pinch today. There’s a major road closure causing all sorts of delays. The A257 St Martin’s Hill is shut down right outside Chaucer House Care Home.

So, what’s the deal? South East Water is on the scene, trying to fix a burst water main that’s been messing with water supplies since January 11. They’ve been working hard to track down the leak.

They’ve apologized for the hassle this has caused. The road is expected to stay closed until 7 PM on January 15. In their latest update, South East Water said they’re making progress in fixing things.

They’re really sorry for the trouble and appreciate everyone’s patience. They promise to keep everyone in the loop until everything’s sorted out.

For now, drivers will need to take a detour. The suggested route is quite the journey, winding through several streets to get around the closure.

On top of that, South East Water is delivering bottled water to homes that are without supplies. They’re also helping out care homes in the area.

As for when the repairs will be done, that’s still up in the air. A spokesperson reassured everyone that they’re doing their best to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
