Greater Manchester: So, there’s been a bit of a mess with the trams today. They’ve completely stopped running on part of the Eccles line because of some emergency work.
Right now, there are no trams between Eccles and Cornbrook. If you were planning to use the tram, you might want to think about taking a bus or even walking instead.
According to the latest update from TfGM, the Eccles line is out of service, including the route from Etihad to Media City. But don’t worry, trams are still running from Ashton to Trafford Bar.
If you have a Metrolink ticket, you can hop on several bus services like the 10, 33, or 100. Just show your ticket to the driver when you get on.
For those needing to plan their journey, there’s a handy journey planner online. Just make sure to select the bus option to find the best routes.
Oh, and if you have the Bee Network app, it’s got bus tracking info too. Plus, some places along the line are easy to reach by foot if you’re up for a little walk.
This isn’t the first time today that emergency works have caused a stir. Earlier, there were issues at Piccadilly Gardens that affected trams at Market Street and Shudehill, but that’s all sorted now.
