London: A self-proclaimed “monster” attacked a top chef during the Notting Hill Carnival. The chef, Mussie Imnetu, was left dying in the street while his attacker went clubbing.
Omar Wilson, 31, got into a fight with Imnetu outside Dr Power restaurant. This happened on August 26. Prosecutors say Wilson punched and kicked Imnetu, who was heavily intoxicated.
After the fight, Wilson left the scene to party at the Ministry of Sound. He later told a friend he “crossed the line” and felt like a monster for what he did.
Witnesses saw the whole thing on CCTV. It started when Wilson headbutted Imnetu. Then he punched him multiple times, even when Imnetu was on the ground.
Imnetu was a talented chef who had worked with famous chefs like Gordon Ramsay. Sadly, he died four days later in the hospital without regaining consciousness.
Wilson claimed he acted in self-defense, saying Imnetu was harassing people. But when he saw the footage of the attack, he admitted it looked excessive and disgusting.
Wilson, from Leytonstone, has denied murder. The trial is ongoing, and the community is still in shock over this tragic event.
