Toby Booth has left the Ospreys unexpectedly, with Mark Jones stepping in as head coach just days before a key match against the Scarlets

Swansea: Wow, did you hear about Toby Booth? He’s out at the Ospreys, and it’s all happened so fast! Mark Jones is taking over as head coach right before a big game against the Scarlets.
Booth was supposed to leave at the end of the season, but things changed quickly. He’s been with the Ospreys since 2020 and did pretty well, even leading them to the play-offs last season.
But this season has been rough. They just took a massive hit, losing 59-15 to Montpellier, which is a record loss for them in Europe. Ouch!
Now, Jones, a former Wales wing, is stepping in earlier than expected. And guess what? Justin Tipuric is set to become the defence coach when he retires at the end of the season.
The Ospreys released a statement thanking Booth for his hard work and wishing him well. It’s a tough time for the team, sitting near the bottom of the URC with only three wins this season.
This coaching shake-up is the second one in Welsh rugby this season, following the Dragons letting go of Dai Flanagan. It’s definitely a whirlwind in the rugby world right now!
