Charlotte: So, guess what? A ton of famous stuff is about to become free for everyone! Starting January 1, 2025, works like Tintin and Hemingway’s books will be up for grabs.

Can you believe it? After 95 years, these copyrights are finally expiring. That means anyone can copy, share, or even remix these classics without paying a dime.

This year, we’re seeing some big names. Tintin, who first appeared in a Belgian paper back in 1929, and Popeye, the sailor we all know and love, are finally joining the public domain party.

Every December, a group at Duke University puts out a list of what’s losing copyright. They’ve had some cool characters in the past, like the original Mickey Mouse and Winnie-the-Pooh.

In 2025, we’ll also see the first versions of Mickey, along with Tintin and Popeye, become free. Plus, some great novels like “The Sound and the Fury” and “A Farewell to Arms” will be available for everyone to enjoy.

And it’s not just books! Films like Alfred Hitchcock’s “Blackmail” and some classic tunes from 1929 will also be up for grabs. It’s a big deal for art lovers everywhere!
