London: A fan of The Traitors has come up with a wild theory on TikTok about Charlotte, the contestant with a fake Welsh accent. This season has brought a lot of Welsh faces to the show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

In this series, we’ve seen Elen and Leanne from north Wales competing as Faithfuls. Charlotte, who’s also a Faithful, has a Welsh connection that she’s using to her advantage.

Charlotte, a 32-year-old business director, was born in England but has a Welsh mum. She decided to adopt a fake Abergavenny accent to seem more trustworthy to her fellow contestants. So far, it seems to be working, as no one has caught on yet.

But fans are curious about her choice. One TikTok user, Martha Collison, thinks there’s more to it. She believes Charlotte’s accent is a way to distance herself from another contestant, Alexander, who’s also from London.

Alexander made a splash in the first episode but later sacrificed his spot to help others win money. He returned later with two other contestants who had also sacrificed themselves. It’s been a rollercoaster for everyone involved.

Martha loves digging into secret relationships on the show and thinks Charlotte and Alexander might be an undercover couple. She points out that it’s odd to fake an accent unless there’s a deeper reason behind it.

She also noticed some strange interactions between Charlotte and Alexander, like when he said something odd while in a cage. It made her wonder if there’s more to their connection than meets the eye.

The TikTok video has blown up, racking up 32k likes and tons of comments. Fans are sharing their theories, with some suggesting Charlotte and Alexander might even be siblings. Others think everyone is paired up somehow.

But not everyone is convinced. Some believe Charlotte just wanted a shield in the game and that there aren’t any more secret relationships. With six episodes in, they think we’d know by now if there were more connections.

The Traitors airs from Wednesday to Friday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, so fans will have to keep watching to see how this all unfolds.
