Oklahoma City: Big news for Thunder fans! Alex Caruso is sticking around. He just signed a four-year extension worth $81 million. That’s a solid deal!
Caruso, who’s been with the Thunder for just one season, was about to hit free agency next summer. Now, he’s locked in until 2029. Pretty sweet for him!
He started his career with the Thunder’s G League team after going undrafted in 2017. Then he had a nice run with the Lakers, winning a championship in 2020, before spending three seasons with the Bulls.
He’s been a real asset for the Thunder this season, averaging 5.7 points and 2.9 assists off the bench. But it’s his defense that’s really impressive. He’s among the top in the league for deflections and steals.
Thanks to Caruso, the Thunder are off to a fantastic start this season, sitting at 22-5. They even made it to the NBA Cup championship game, though they lost to the Bucks.
Last season, the Thunder had a great run, finishing 57-25 and making it to the Western Conference semifinals. With stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, plus Caruso’s leadership, they’re looking strong for the future!
