Thug Robbed Man Returning to Hotel After Night Out in Manchester
A man was attacked and robbed in Manchester after a night out, leading to the assailant’s arrest and a lengthy prison sentence.

Manchester: A guy just got robbed while walking back to his hotel after a night out. It’s a real shame, right? This poor dude was visiting from Hong Kong and was just trying to enjoy his time.
So, here’s what happened. Ahmed Elgamodi, 28, approached him on Back George Street, offering some cannabis. They chatted for a bit, but then things took a nasty turn. Elgamodi threw the guy to the ground and snatched his phone before running off.
The victim ended up with a little bump on his head, but thankfully, the police were quick on the scene. They caught Elgamodi less than two hours later while he was riding a bike. They recognized him from the CCTV footage, which is pretty impressive.
In court, Elgamodi got hit with a five-year sentence for robbery and an extra two years for dealing crack cocaine. He’s also banned from certain parts of Manchester for eight years. That’s a serious consequence for a stupid decision.
PC Jamie Acton from the local police said they won’t tolerate attacks like this on visitors. He’s glad they caught Elgamodi fast and hopes he thinks about his actions while serving time. It’s just a reminder to stay safe out there, folks!
