Stoke-on-Trent: A chaotic scene unfolded on the M6 today when eight vehicles collided, leading to three people being taken to the hospital. The accident happened around 2:50 PM, and it caused a major traffic jam.

Emergency services quickly arrived, and the northbound lanes were shut down between junctions 15 and 16. As you can imagine, the evening rush hour turned into a nightmare with severe delays.

Traffic reports indicated that congestion stretched back to junction 15, and the opposite side was also slow due to curious onlookers. Drivers were scrambling for alternative routes through Stoke-on-Trent, which only added to the chaos.

National Highways warned of two-hour delays and eight miles of backed-up traffic. Even after the wreckage was cleared, residual delays lingered due to breakdowns on the road.

The vehicles involved included a mix of vans and cars, like a Nissan panel van, a Vauxhall Corsa, and a Ford Transit. Thankfully, the injuries reported were not life-threatening.

Staffordshire Police confirmed they received calls about the multi-vehicle collision and that all vehicles have since been removed from the scene. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were dispatched to help.
