Three Arrested, One Seriously Injured After Car Fire in Byker
A car fire in Byker led to three arrests and one man hospitalized with serious injuries

Byker: Three people were arrested after a car was set on fire. This happened during a disturbance outside a closed restaurant.
Emergency services arrived at Lou’s Diner on Fossway around 7:30 PM on Sunday. The diner, famous for its Geordie Breakfast Pizza, has now closed for good.
On Monday, police were still present at the scene. They included a Specialist Search Team. Photos showed damaged glass doors at the restaurant.
Northumbria Police reported that a vehicle crashed into the diner before being set ablaze. A group of men then got into a fight, leading to three arrests and one man being hospitalized with serious injuries.
A police spokesperson said they received reports of the disturbance shortly after 7:30 PM. They confirmed the vehicle collision and subsequent fire.
A man in his 30s was taken to the hospital for treatment. Three men, aged from their teens to their 60s, were arrested in connection with the incident.
Police believe all involved know each other and there is no wider threat to the public.
