Pembrokeshire: So, here’s the scoop. Local lifeboats have been super busy lately. They’ve been called out three times in just three days to help a 100-tonne survey vessel that got stuck on a beach.

This boat, about 24 meters long, was hanging out at Newgale for a survey job. It seems they were trying to connect some high-speed fiber optic cable from Ireland to a business park in Brawdy for Vodafone.

Vodafone confirmed the ship was working for them but kept mum about the details, saying it’s all ‘commercially sensitive.’ A spokesperson mentioned that the vessel had some technical hiccups while trying to leave the beach at high tide.

They’re hopeful the issue will be sorted out soon. The vessel, named KMS Terramare, got stuck on Tuesday night because one of its engines failed. The St Davids RNLI Lifeboat tried to tow it away but had to call it off due to rough sea conditions.

Then, just yesterday evening, the lifeboat was called again to help out. They launched at 7:59 PM to provide salvage pumps and escort the vessel to Milford Haven because they were worried about the crew’s safety. Angle RNLI also jumped in to help, along with local coastguard teams.

Eventually, a tug managed to pull the vessel off Newgale, but it didn’t make it all the way to Milford Haven and had to anchor off Broad Haven instead. The St Davids Lifeboat wrapped up their mission around 4:10 AM today.

But wait, it gets better! Just over six hours later, at 10:35 AM, they were called out again for the same vessel. St Davids Lifeboat is currently back at the scene, keeping an eye on things.

The Western Telegraph is on it, reaching out to HM Coastguard for updates on this ongoing rescue situation. We’ll keep you posted!
