A man has been sentenced for multiple burglaries at a local golf club, causing significant losses

Newton Aycliffe: So, there’s this guy, Carl Hodgson, 29, who got himself into a bit of trouble. He showed up at the Roseberry Grange Golf Club a few times and decided to help himself to whatever he could find.
He was in court recently, pleading guilty to three burglaries that happened over a span of a year or so. The judge wasn’t too pleased with him, especially since he kept going back to the same place.
Hodgson managed to swipe a bunch of stuff, like alcohol, cash, and even a safe. All in all, he stole more than £965 worth of goodies. Can you believe it?
His little crime spree included nicking drinks and snacks worth about £170 in September 2023, then taking more booze and cash in February 2024, and finally, in May, he really went for it and stole a safe along with other items valued at £620.
In the end, the magistrates decided to give him six months for each burglary, but they let those sentences run at the same time. So, he’s looking at seven months total, plus he has to cough up £300 to the golf club.
The prosecutor made it clear that Hodgson’s actions really hit the club hard, both financially and emotionally. His lawyer did mention that he was cooperative and pleaded guilty, but that didn’t save him from the consequences.
