New York: Investors are really curious about whether the stock market’s bull run will keep going into 2025. After a couple of strong years, everyone’s eyes are on the charts that could signal what’s next.

Business Insider reached out to some top technical experts on Wall Street to find out which charts they think are the most important for the upcoming year. They’ve got their eyes on everything from interest rates to software stocks.

Will Tamplin from Fairlead Strategies mentioned that the S&P 500 Index is showing signs of a possible consolidation phase early in 2025. He pointed out that the momentum from the previous uptrend seems to be slowing down, which could lead to some corrective price action.

Ryan Detrick from Carson Group compared bull markets to cruise ships, saying once they get going, it’s tough to stop them. He noted that historically, bull markets that reach their third year often continue for several more years, so there’s still hope for the bull in 2025.

Craig Johnson from Piper Sandler talked about the 10-year UST yield, which has reversed a long-term downtrend. He suggested that if it pulls back to around 3.00% to 3.50%, it could indicate trouble for the economy. But he also mentioned that moderate Fed rate cuts have usually been good for stocks, especially smaller ones.

Ari Wald from Oppenheimer is keeping an eye on high-momentum versus low-momentum stocks. He believes that how these perform could indicate whether the bull market will broaden or narrow.

Jay Woods from Freedom Capital Markets is optimistic about technology stocks, especially software. He thinks 2025 will be a pivotal year for them, as they’re ready to take the lead.

Lastly, David Keller from Sierra Alpha Research is watching market breadth indicators. He’s concerned that if the leadership remains narrow, it could signal a weaker start to the year.

So, as we head into 2025, it looks like there’s a lot to keep an eye on in the stock market!
