London: The Ivy has rolled out a new festive menu, and I can’t wait to go back for more.
With decorations like Alpine snowmen and Christmas trees, The Ivy Café in Blackheath really nails that festive vibe.
This year, the menu is inspired by Alpine ski lodges. For £55, you can enjoy a three-course meal packed with festive flavors, including dishes like Cure Smoked Salmon and Turkey, Goose, and Duck Shepherds Pie.
Alongside the set menu, they’ve added a bunch of festive cocktails, including some tasty non-alcoholic options.
We kicked things off with the Roast Pumpkin and Butternut Squash Soup and the Salton and Walnut Cheese Soufflé. The soup was warm and cozy, with a nice crunch from the pine nuts and chestnut ricotta. The soufflé was rich and creamy, just perfect.
The main courses really brought the festive spirit, featuring two turkey dishes and classic options like Sirloin Steak and Pan Fried Sea Bass.
I wasn’t quite ready for turkey yet, so I opted for the Foraged Wild Mushroom and Truffle Linguine. It was served with a plant-based cream cheese, pine nuts, and truffle mushrooms. The earthy flavor was delightful!
My mum, however, was all about the turkey and went for the Turkey Ballotine, which was like a full-on Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
If you’re still hungry, there are sides like Thick Cut Chips and Brussels Sprouts with Roasted Chestnuts to choose from.
For dessert, I was super excited to try The Snowman dessert, which might just be the cutest festive dessert ever.
It looks like a dapper snowman, complete with a hat and scarf, and is filled with brownie pieces, vanilla parfait, milk foam, sponge cake, honeycomb, and popping candy. So fun!
My mum went for the classic Chocolate Bombe, which is a melting dome drizzled with hot caramel sauce, served with honeycomb and vanilla ice cream. It’s a must for any chocolate lover.
We wrapped up our meal with some cocktails. The menu has five new festive drinks, and I’d love to try them all!
I went for the Christmas Colada, a festive twist on the classic, made with rum, coconut, white chocolate syrup, mango, and pineapple, topped with a chocolate snowman. It was sweet and delicious!
My mum chose a non-alcoholic drink, the Highball Spritz, which was a fruity mix of Seedlip Garden, Wild Idol, spiced berries, and mint. It reminded me of a bramble with its berry flavors.
Compared to other Ivy locations in Central London, this one felt more relaxed and cozy, perfect for family meals and friendly gatherings.
It was such a fun evening, filled with festive decorations and crackers to pull. The Festive Set Menu at the Ivy Blackheath runs until January 2, with two courses at £50 and three courses at £55, plus some extra charges for certain dishes.
