London: You know how it is, right? Sometimes, the city can feel a bit overwhelming. If you’re looking for a quick escape, I’ve got just the place for you.
There’s this adorable village, only about two and a half hours from London. It’s perfect for a day trip or a little staycation. Seriously, you’ll love it!
This village is so picturesque that it’s even been featured in the Bridget Jones movies. Can you believe that? It’s like stepping into a postcard.
Snowshill, tucked away in Gloucestershire, is a hidden gem with just 160 residents. It’s not as crowded as other Cotswold spots, but it’s got its own charm.
The views are breathtaking, and the main attraction is Snowshill Manor. It’s a National Trust property filled with all sorts of quirky items collected by a guy named Charles Paget Wade.
He really brought the manor back to life, and now you can explore everything from old toys to armor. Plus, the garden is stunning, with all these cool outdoor rooms and even a miniature village!
Your ticket gets you into the garden, a cozy café, and a second-hand bookshop. If you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss the nearby Snowshill Lavender fields. They’re gorgeous!
For a bite to eat, check out The Snowshill Arms. It’s a classic country pub that’s been around since the 15th century. They serve up hearty pub food and local beers.
Getting there might take a bit of planning since public transport isn’t super frequent. You’ll need to catch a train from Paddington to Evesham or Moreton-in-Marsh, then hop on a couple of buses.
If you’re driving, it’s a pretty straightforward trip, usually taking between two to three hours, depending on traffic. Totally worth it for a little slice of tranquility!
