Swansea: This lovely seaside spot in the UK is getting a lot of attention lately. Langland Bay is a real gem on the Gower Peninsula, and folks are eager to grab a beach hut there.

The bay is stunning, with its sandy beach, rocky cliffs, and greenery all around. It’s a favorite hangout for both locals and visitors.

One of the coolest things about Langland Bay is its row of charming Victorian beach huts. They really add to the town’s character.

But here’s the catch: getting one of those beach huts isn’t easy. They’re in such high demand that there’s an annual ballot for them, and everyone wants in.

This year, the draw for the huts will happen in March 2025. Swansea residents can apply online for one of the 83 available huts, with rental options from three months to a full year starting April 1, 2025.

Mark your calendars! The application window closes on January 29, and every year, hundreds of people try their luck in this ballot.

There are six rental options, with prices starting at £446 and going up to £2,204. It’s quite the range!

Robert Francis Davies, a cabinet member for investment and tourism, mentioned that these beach huts have been a beloved part of the bay for years. The popularity means they have to do a draw to keep it fair.

He added that Langland Bay is a hit with everyone, especially in the summer. Recent improvements, like the seawall rebuild and the smoke-free beach initiative, are all part of making it a great place to visit.

So, if you’re thinking about a beach hut, don’t forget the deadline is coming up fast—January 29 at noon!
