Stalybridge: An old bank is about to get a fresh start. This vacant building has been empty for years, but soon it could be buzzing with life.

Plans are in place to turn it into a restaurant, bar, and event space. Imagine a cozy dining area and a cool underground cocktail bar. There’s even a private function space for special events.

The ground floor will feature a modern restaurant and bar. They’ll focus on local ingredients and craft drinks. Plus, there will be a terrace for outdoor dining and a private dining area on the first floor.

The first floor will also have a barbershop and a flexible event space. This space can host everything from private parties to community gatherings.

Andrew Fogg, the applicant, believes this project can breathe new life into the historic building. He hopes it will boost the local economy and create jobs in hospitality and services.

The basement will be transformed into a stylish bar. It will mix historic charm with modern design. They plan to keep original features like exposed brick walls and vintage vault doors.

The bar will serve craft cocktails, fine wines, and local beers. With comfy seating and soft lighting, it will be a great spot to unwind and enjoy Stalybridge’s nightlife.

This historic building is in a conservation area, but the changes will be minimal. The Elizabethan-style structure will mostly stay the same, aside from some lighting and signage updates.

Originally, it was home to the Manchester and County Bank, which later became part of NatWest. Now, it’s ready for a new chapter in its long history.
