Hearing on Future of ‘High-Risk’ Sleaford Pub The Grapes Postponed
The hearing to determine the fate of The Grapes pub in Sleaford has been delayed, leaving its future uncertain.

Sleaford: So, there’s been a bit of a hold-up with The Grapes pub. They were supposed to have a hearing to see if they could get a new manager, but it got postponed. This pub has had its license taken away because of some pretty wild fights and trouble in the area.
The owners are trying to get a new license with a different manager, but the police are not too keen on the new guy. They think he doesn’t have enough experience to handle things. In fact, they said this pub takes up more of their time than any other in Lincolnshire, which is saying something!
The hearing was meant to happen on January 13, but neither the police nor the pub owners could make it. Licensing Officer Neil Chadwick mentioned that both sides wanted to be there in person, so they decided to push it back to January 28.
Paul Dickinson is the new manager they want to bring in, but the police are worried he doesn’t have the right background for the job. They’ve labeled The Grapes as a “high-risk” place with a pretty rough history.
Despite all this, Paul and the former manager, Lucy, are staying positive. They believe they’ve addressed the police’s concerns and are confident they haven’t broken any rules. They think The Grapes is a key part of Sleaford’s nightlife, and if it doesn’t stay open, folks might just head to Lincoln for a night out instead.
For now, the pub is still open while they sort out the licensing mess.
