Finsbury Park: It sounds like a horror story, but it’s real. Marius Gustavson, a guy from Norway, was living a double life. He was castrating people and livestreaming it to thousands of subscribers. Crazy, right?
He seemed like a regular dude, living in a Victorian house, but under his stairs was a makeshift butcher shop. He was arrested in November 2022 after branding a guy’s leg with the initials EM, which stood for Eunuch Maker. But that was just the tip of the iceberg.
When the police dug deeper, they found body parts in his freezer. Now, there’s a documentary coming out about this whole twisted saga. It’s hosted by Marcel Theroux, who’s diving into the dark world of body modification and amputation.
Gustavson’s story starts in Norway, where he was a postal worker and even the chair of the local LGBT community. He organized events and seemed like a decent guy. But things took a turn for the worse when he got into trouble with the law.
After a few stints in jail for fraud, he moved to the UK in 2012. His life changed dramatically after his partner left him. He got into body modification and even had his own penis removed in 2017. That’s when he started the Eunuch Maker website, where people could pay to watch surgeries.
He claimed he wanted to help others feel better about themselves, but it quickly spiraled out of control. Without any medical training, he was performing surgeries with kitchen knives and tools meant for animals. It was a total nightmare.
Gustavson was part of a community that wanted to remove their sexual characteristics, and he marketed his services on the dark web. He had a following of over 22,000 people, and they were all into extreme body modification.
Things got really dark when one victim came forward in 2020, revealing the horrific details of his surgery. He was drugged, electrocuted, and branded. This led to police raids and Gustavson’s arrest.
When they searched his home, they found a freezer full of body parts and even his own amputated penis. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison, and his accomplices got varying sentences too.
The documentary will explore how he managed to manipulate vulnerable people into trusting him. Theroux, who interviewed him in jail, described Gustavson as surprisingly charming, which is pretty unsettling.
The Eunuch Maker documentary will be available to stream on Crime + Investigation Play starting January 13. If you’re curious, check out their website for more info.
