Blackley: Big news! A huge new church is on the way, taking over a former convent site. The World Mission Agency is behind this project, and they’re looking to demolish the old convent to make room for a modern worship space.

This new Winners Chapel will hold up to 1,500 people. They say the current building just isn’t cutting it anymore. So, they’ve snagged the land on Chain Road to create something fresh and exciting.

The plans include a chapel, a community hall, a training center, and even a day nursery. It sounds like they want to make it a real hub for the community.

Now, here’s the kicker: there’s only one way in and out of the site, which is right next to a bunch of schools. So, they’ll be sharing that access with the schools, which could get busy.

To handle all the cars, they’re planning to add 189 parking spots, including spaces for electric vehicles and accessible parking. Plus, they’re even thinking about motorcycle and bike parking!

And get this: they’re introducing shuttle buses to help cut down on traffic. Right now, most folks drive to church, but they want to encourage more people to use the bus service. They’re expecting the number of bus users to grow by over 15% as the congregation expands.

So, if you’re interested, you can check out the proposals and share your thoughts online until January 24. Exciting times ahead for Blackley!
