Thirteen Croydon restaurants received poor hygiene ratings, with some needing urgent improvements

Croydon: So, it turns out that 13 restaurants in Croydon got some pretty low food hygiene ratings this year. Not great, right?
Out of those, seven places scored a 2 out of 5, which means they really need to step up their game. Five others got a 1 out of 5, indicating major improvements are needed.
One restaurant even hit rock bottom with a 0 out of 5, which is just alarming. Inspectors from the local council found that urgent changes were necessary.
They’ve put together a list of these restaurants, along with when they were inspected and what ratings they received. Just a heads up, this list is only for sit-down restaurants, not takeaways or coffee shops.
First up is Dera Niazi, a Pakistani spot on Derby Road. They got the worst score of 0 out of 5 after an inspection in mid-November. The inspectors said everything needed urgent improvement.
Then there’s Bombalicious, an Indian restaurant in Coulsdon, which scored a 1 out of 5 in late December. They need to work on food handling and cleanliness.
Dhinchak, another Indian place in Thornton Heath, got a 2 out of 5 in November. They didn’t disclose too many details, but it’s clear they need to improve.
Efie Ne Fie, a West African restaurant in Thornton Heath, also scored a 1 out of 5 in March. They were okay with food handling but cleanliness was a big issue.
Ideal Sweets, another Pakistani restaurant in Norbury, got a 1 out of 5 in late June. They need to clean up their act, especially regarding food safety management.
Les Calices, a West African eatery on Lower Addiscombe Road, scored a 1 out of 5 in July. They need to improve food handling and cleanliness.
Mazu Restaurant, a Mediterranean spot in Coulsdon, got a 1 out of 5 in February. They were decent with food handling but cleanliness was lacking.
Oodles, a Chinese restaurant on George Street, scored a 2 out of 5 in November. They need to work on food handling, but other areas were okay.
Curry Leaf, an Indian Bangladeshi restaurant, got a 2 out of 5 in August. They need to improve food handling, but cleanliness was generally fine.
Food Station, another Indian place, scored a 2 out of 5 in February. They need to work on food handling, but cleanliness was satisfactory.
Rujis, also Indian, got a 2 out of 5 in August. They did well with food handling, but cleanliness needs attention.
Seafood and Tingz, a seafood restaurant in Thornton Heath, scored a 2 out of 5 in February. They were good with food handling, but cleanliness was a concern.
Lastly, The Kenkey House, another West African restaurant, got a 2 out of 5 in May. They were okay with food handling, but cleanliness needs improvement.
