Manchester: A barbershop in the Northern Quarter is doing something pretty cool this month. Jefe’s Barbers is letting folks pay whatever they can for haircuts. It’s a great way to help out those who might be feeling the pinch after the holidays.

The owner, Jerelle Okoro, shared the news on social media. He wrote a heartfelt message saying that for the rest of January, customers can come in and pay what they can. It’s a nice gesture, especially since January can be tough financially for many.

This isn’t the first time Jefe’s has stepped up to help. Last year, they offered £5 haircuts to support people during the cost of living crisis. Jerelle really wants to make a difference in the community.

He started Jefe’s after feeling let down by other barbers. He opened the shop in 2022 as the first subscription barbershop. Jerelle has even cut hair for some well-known faces, including YouTube stars and football reporters.

After leaving basketball in 2020, he decided to focus on barbering. He wanted his shop to feel more like a family hub than just a place to get a haircut. It’s all about creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
