London: It’s heartbreaking to see so many young lives lost. This year, 10 boys were killed, with nine of them stabbed and one shot. Can you believe one was just 14?
Even though the numbers are down from previous years, it’s still shocking. Ten teenagers gone in just a year is hard to wrap your head around.
Last year, we shared stories of 21 teens who lost their lives, and we’re doing the same this year. Each of these boys had dreams and families who loved them.
If you’re worried about your child getting involved in knife crime, check out the Ben Kinsella Trust. They have resources for parents to help keep kids safe.
Take Tyler Donnelly, for instance. He was just 19 when he was stabbed in a park in January. Three men are on trial for his murder, and it sounds like a brutal attack.
Then there’s Nathan Bawuah, who was only 17 when he was killed in Hackney. A 17-year-old was convicted of manslaughter after a confrontation turned deadly.
And let’s not forget Daniel Anjorin, just 14, who was attacked on his way to school. His family is devastated, and it’s just so tragic.
Kamari Johnson, another victim, was 16 when he was stabbed over a moped deal. His case is still in trial, and it’s just so sad to think about.
Mohammed Adam Abdi was 19 when he was killed in Westminster. He was found after a street fight, and sadly, he didn’t make it.
Ahmed Habib, also 19, was stabbed in a car. His family is heartbroken, and it’s just another reminder of the violence out there.
Rene Graham was only 15 when he was shot at a park during a family event. His mom’s words about her loss are just gut-wrenching.
Pharrell Garcia, another 15-year-old, was found with stab wounds in a park. A teen has been charged, but it’s just so tragic.
Daejaun Campbell, also 15, cried out for help after being attacked. His mom’s story about rushing to find him is just heartbreaking.
Finally, Deonte Mowatt-Slater was 16 when he was stabbed while on a motorbike. It’s just a reminder of how quickly things can turn tragic.
