Plano: An Ardmore man has been arrested in connection with a child abduction case that dates back to 1991. This guy, who’s 64, is also facing charges for aggravated sexual assault related to the abduction of an 8-year-old child. He was taken into custody on December 19, but we’re not naming him yet since he hasn’t been formally charged.

The police in Plano mentioned that this suspect might be linked to another similar case in Dallas from 1999, which raises concerns that there could be more victims out there.

So, here’s what happened: On August 15, 1991, around 6 p.m., two kids were walking to a neighborhood pool when a man grabbed one of them in the 1700 block of Lake Hill Lane. The poor child was found five hours later in Garland, Texas.

After years of investigation, the police finally gathered enough evidence to make an arrest last year. The suspect is currently being held with a pending bond. The Plano Police Department worked closely with the Texas Rangers to crack this cold case.

In a statement, the Plano Police said they couldn’t have made this breakthrough without help from the surviving victims and various forensic and law enforcement agencies.
