Walsall: Last night, things got pretty intense in Walsall when some teens clashed with weapons. It all went down on Drayton Street around 9 PM, and it was no small deal.
Three boys, one 17 and two just 16, were arrested pretty quickly. They’re in custody now, facing some serious charges for wounding with intent. The police are still digging into what happened.
On top of that, there was an arson incident at a home on Pargeter Street just before that. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Because of the violence, the police have put special stop-and-search powers in place for Pleck and Birchills Leamore. This started today and will last until tomorrow afternoon.
With these powers, officers can stop and search anyone without needing a specific reason. The police are ramping up their presence to keep everyone safe and calm the situation.
Chief Inspector Lee Wiggan mentioned they don’t take these powers lightly but will do what it takes to ensure safety. They’ll have more patrols and uniformed officers out there.
The goal is clear: keep the community safe and prevent any more trouble.
