Harrow: A shocking incident unfolded when a teenager was brutally attacked in a transphobic assault that was planned on Snapchat. The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was stabbed and beaten after being targeted with slurs at a roller disco.
She was invited by a group of youths, but things took a dark turn when they discovered she was transgender. They lured her into a car park under false pretenses, intending to attack her. It’s just heartbreaking.
Five individuals, including a 20-year-old and a 17-year-old, have admitted to causing grievous bodily harm and are facing sentencing soon. One of them even had a knife on them, which is just insane.
The victim has been left with deep scars and ongoing trauma. She shared that she struggles to trust people and feels scared to leave her house. It’s been nearly a year, and she’s still dealing with panic attacks and sleepless nights.
Things escalated when a friend outed her to the group, leading to threats and ultimately the violent attack. The group was waiting for her, dressed in dark clothing, and they attacked her as soon as she arrived.
She was overwhelmed and couldn’t defend herself. The attack lasted about 45 seconds, with one of the attackers stabbing her multiple times while others kicked and punched her. It’s just horrific.
Thankfully, some bystanders came to her aid, and she was rushed to the hospital. The attackers even bragged about the assault on social media afterward, which is just beyond belief.
The judge is set to hand down sentences soon, and it’s hard to imagine what the victim is going through. This kind of hate has no place in our society.
