Harrow: A shocking incident unfolded when a transgender girl was attacked by a group of masked youths. This happened outside the Harrow Leisure Centre during a roller disco event.
The 18-year-old victim was surrounded and pinned down while being verbally abused. She suffered nine stab wounds, which left her hospitalized and in serious pain.
Summer Betts-Ramsey, one of the attackers, admitted to using a knife during the assault. She was caught on camera making multiple stabbing motions while the victim was on the ground.
Three other teens, including Bradley Harris, also played a role in the attack, physically assaulting the victim and encouraging the violence.
The victim shared how the attack has haunted her, causing nightmares and anxiety. She feels scared to leave her home, replaying the traumatic event in her mind.
Before the attack, the victim had been invited to a Snapchat group for the roller disco. After some online flirting, things took a dark turn when Harris learned about her gender identity.
Feeling threatened, the victim revealed she was transgender, which led to the group turning against her. They made cruel comments and escalated the situation into violence.
In the hours leading up to the attack, the victim tried to reach out to the group, only to be met with hostility and insults. The atmosphere was charged with tension, and it was clear they were setting her up.
Just before the assault, Betts-Ramsey received a call where she expressed her intent to harm the victim. The attack was brutal, with the victim being kicked and stabbed while others filmed the incident.
After the attack, she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The prosecution argued that the attack was fueled by hostility towards her transgender identity.
All involved have pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm, and the court proceedings are ongoing as they face sentencing for their actions.
