London: An 18-year-old named Tahjin Sommersall has been charged with murder after a tragic drive-by shooting outside a church. This incident happened on December 14, and it left a woman named Michelle Sadio dead.
Michelle, 44, was shot while attending a wake at the River of Life Pentecostal Church in Harlesden. It was a sad day, as they were remembering an 80-year-old woman who had just passed away.
Things got chaotic when a group of young people gathered outside the church after being denied entry. Later that evening, a dark Kia pulled up, and shots rang out into the crowd.
Sadly, Michelle was hit and died right there. Two other men were also injured but thankfully survived. It’s heartbreaking to think that kids as young as five were there when this happened.
After the shooting, the Kia was found abandoned and set on fire nearby. Tahjin was arrested a few weeks later at his home and charged with murder, along with attempted murder and firearm possession.
In court, the prosecutor mentioned that this shooting was linked to ongoing gang disputes. The judge noted the reckless nature of the shooting, which seemed to target anyone in the area.
A plea hearing is set for April, and a trial is planned for October. Meanwhile, police have arrested five more men in connection with the case, and the victim’s family is receiving support.
