Caroline Springs: A young boy had a pretty scary experience recently. He was threatened with a machete by a group of older teens. Can you believe that?

This all went down around 6:35 PM on a Tuesday. The 15-year-old was just hanging out when a group of guys, aged between 15 and 19, approached him. They pulled out a machete and demanded his phone. It’s wild!

But it didn’t stop there. They also forced him to transfer some cash electronically. After the incident, the boy reported it to the police, and they jumped into action.

By 7:20 PM, the police had found a group that matched the description of the attackers. They spotted them at a service station in Taylors Hill. When the driver of their VW Golf saw the cops, he tried to escape by reversing into the police car. What a move!

Four of the teens were arrested right there, but one tried to run away. He was caught a little later in Burnside. The police talked to a 15-year-old and three 18-year-olds from different areas, plus a 19-year-old from Kurunjang.

The 19-year-old driver is in some trouble now. He’s been charged with evading police, damaging a police vehicle, and driving without a license. He’s out on bail and has to show up in court on March 24.

The other guys were let go for now, but the investigation is still ongoing. It’s a crazy situation, and I hope that boy is doing okay after that ordeal.
