Brighton: A teenager has been sentenced to 29 years for killing a 17-year-old boy. Jayden Gubetini, just 18, was found guilty of murdering Cameron Bailey in High Wycombe.

The incident happened on May 7, 2023, and Gubetini was sentenced by Judge Heather Norton at Reading Crown Court. He was part of a group involved in a series of violent crimes linked to Cameron’s death.

During a nine-week trial, the jury unanimously convicted Gubetini. He was also found guilty of attempting to murder Cameron’s friend and other serious charges.

Four other men were also sentenced for their roles in the crime. They include Aaran Pattinson, Philip Solomon, Scott Cordice, and Marlon Cato, all facing significant prison time.

Cameron and his friend had traveled from Brighton to High Wycombe when they were targeted. Gubetini first robbed them the day before the fatal attack.

The next day, he returned with others and attacked Cameron and his friend again, leading to Cameron’s tragic death. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he couldn’t be saved.

Investigators quickly identified the suspects, but Gubetini fled to the Netherlands. He was brought back to the UK in July 2023 and faced additional charges for a violent incident in prison.

Detective Inspector Stuart May described Gubetini as dangerous, emphasizing the severe impact of his actions on Cameron’s family. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of knife crime.

Other defendants received varying sentences, with some pleading guilty to lesser charges. The court’s decisions reflect the serious nature of the crimes committed.
