Teen found guilty of attempting to murder two teachers and a pupil

Carmarthenshire: A 14-year-old girl was found guilty of attempting murder. This happened at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman. She tried to stab two teachers and a pupil.

The girl, whose name is not revealed, faced charges in Swansea Crown Court. She admitted to causing grievous bodily harm and having a knife at school.

Now, she awaits sentencing for her actions. Emergency services responded quickly on April 24 after reports of injuries.

Two teachers, Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin, along with a child, were hospitalized. They had been stabbed during the incident.

CCTV footage showed the girl walking through the school. She first stabbed the floor in the hall before attacking Mrs. Elias.

When Mrs. Hopkin intervened, she was also injured. Shortly after, the girl attacked a child with the same knife.

Detective Chief Superintendent Ross Evans described the event as distressing. He emphasized the impact on students who witnessed the attack.

He stated that schools should be safe places. Weapons have no place in schools, and safety is a priority.

Cllr Darren Price, Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, expressed sympathy for the victims. He condemned the violence that shocked the community.

He thanked emergency services and local support for their quick response. The council aims to prevent such incidents in the future.
