Frodsham: So, here’s the scoop. Mike Amesbury, the suspended Labour MP, is heading to court over an assault charge. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, right?

He’s accused of getting into a scuffle with a 45-year-old guy on Main Street. This all went down early in the morning on October 26, and the police got the call at 2:48 AM.

Things got serious when some footage popped up showing him throwing a punch. That’s when the Labour Party decided to suspend him, and now he’s sitting as an Independent in Parliament.

At 55, Amesbury is facing a section 39 assault charge. The prosecutors got the file on October 29, and now he’s got to face the music.

He mentioned he’s been cooperating with the police about this “deeply regrettable” incident. Mark your calendars; he’s due in Chester Magistrates’ Court this Thursday.
